Ridgewood YMCA Receives grant from Parkinson's Foundation
August 2025
The Ridgewood YMCA is proud to announce that it has been awarded a generous community grant from the Parkinson’s Foundation in support of our Parkinson’s Prevention and Support Program. This meaningful partnership strengthens our ability to serve individuals living with Parkinson’s by promoting wellness, connection, and a renewed sense of hope.
Over the years, our participants—and the families and friends who stand alongside them—have created a vibrant, uplifting community within the Y. Regular movement, strength-building, flexibility, and agility are essential components of managing Parkinson’s symptoms. With the help of this grant, the Ridgewood YMCA is able to provide memberships to individuals living with Parkinson’s, expanding access to our specialized fitness classes, support group, and educational workshops. Participants will also benefit from full use of our pools and fitness center, offering a holistic approach to health and well-being.
Through this continued support, we aim to make a lasting impact on confidence, independence, and overall quality of life for those navigating Parkinson’s disease.
“Our thanks to the Parkinson’s Foundation for making this work possible,” said Richa Koirala, Senior Director of Development and Marketing. “Their support enables the Ridgewood YMCA to offer programs that empower individuals with Parkinson’s to stay active, supported, and strong.”
