The Ridgewood Y is Proud to Announce our new
Autism + Adaptive Program

The Ridgewood YMCA is proud to announce the launch of our new Autism and Adaptive Program for adults 21 years and older. Here at the Y, we are committed to our mission of serving the community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Our Autism and Adaptive programming builds upon this by providing a wellness-based approach that considers the needs of young adults transitioning out of the school system.

In 2023, the Ridgewood Y began hosting autism think tank sessions that brought together local parents, experts, and leaders from partner organizations to understand the community’s needs. With this valuable input, we have developed programming to support the underserved population of adults with disabilities, primarily on the autism spectrum.

The weekly schedule consists of fitness and enrichment classes, swim lessons, functional living skills, group social events, and a comprehensive list of resources for caretakers seeking support. With this schedule, we hope to provide opportunities to develop peer relationships, confidence, and encourage community involvement.

As a leader in community programming since 1902, the Ridgewood Y aims to empower individuals to achieve their potential and create opportunities for everyone to thrive and succeed. We invite you to learn more about our Autism and Adaptive Program below.
