When you belong to the Y, you’re not only a member of a health and wellness facility, you’re a member of a non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening our community.

In difficult times, our YMCA pivots in response to community needs and finds ways to use our resources to offer solutions.

FOOD DISTRIBUTION

Through our commitment to tackle food insecurity, the Ridgewood Y offers weekly food distributions, providing the community with fresh and shelf stable food boxes since the beginning of 2020. As the need continues to grow, so does our commitment to serving our neighbors!

BEYOND PANTRY

The Ridgewood Y has created an indoor pantry to serve individuals and families who qualify.  We offer items including but beyond just food; baby items, feminine & household hygiene products, cleaning supplies and so much more are available.  If you or someone you know is in need of additional support our Beyond Pantry is here for you!  Please apply today and any questions contact Megan Nayden, email below.

YOGA

Learn the “ins and outs” of Yoga postures. The practice of yoga improves our well-being, not just physically, but on all levels: physiologically, mentally, emotional and spiritually. Yoga is to be experienced. All are welcome to join.   

GENTLE YOGA

Vinyasa poses incorporate breathing and relaxation to increase flexibility, strength and balance to reduce stress.

HATHA YOGA

Experience the transformative power of moving mediation by practicing various yoga postures with a focus on creating awareness gaining strength and increasing flexibility. 

GENTLE HATHA YOGA

This form of Hatha Yoga practice involves breath, body, and mind, with poses not as strenuous as in a traditional yoga class.

Iyengar yoga begins with standing, sitting and lying down postures and later inversions and more vigorous backbends and breathing techniques. The Iyengar method emphasizes proper alignment and builds strength, flexibility and inner peace.
