Digital Marketing and Social Media Coordinator

The Ridgewood YMCA is seeking a creative, enthusiastic, and outgoing individual to join our in-house marketing team. The Y is a leading nonprofit organization committed to strengthening our community through our mission of youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.

The Digital Marketing and Social Media Coordinator reports to the Director of Marketing and is responsible for creating engaging content and implementing it through an effective digital strategy. The ideal candidate has a strong background in digital marketing and social media management, and can additionally handle content design and copywriting duties.

You will become part of a small, tight-knit team that works closely with each other and truly believes in our work to build a stronger community. We’re a small organization that does big things—the ability to multitask, manage multiple projects and channels, constantly adapt to changing priorities, and roll up your sleeves and dive in (sometimes literally) is essential.

HEAD TEACHER | Ridgewood YMCA Preschool

Full Time

The Ridgewood YMCA is seeking a full time Head Teacher for our preschool program. The Head Teacher, in collaboration with the Sr. Director of Childcare and Camp, will plan and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum that supports and encourages the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical needs of our preschool students. They will work within the framework of the Ridgewood YMCA’s Preschool program to carry out its functions, policies, and procedures; including but not limited to student assessments, work sampling, individualized plans, and parent/ family engagement. The Head Teacher will supervise, coach, and support Assistant Teachers and Activity Specialists when appropriate.

The Ridgewood YMCA Preschool Program operates Monday – Friday, from September through June. Our Head Teacher will have additional responsibilities when preschool is not in session and must be available to work evenings and weekends as needed. This will include and is not limited to, summer camp, enrichment, vacation camp, and other Ridgewood YMCA programs.

PART TIME

GROUP FITNESS INSTRUCTORS

Part Time

We are currently seeking an energetic, reliable and passionate group fitness instructor to teach cycle, strength, Zumba®, and cardio classes. Applicants must:

  • develop effective, engaging, and motivating class formats accompanied by fun and appropriate playlists.
  • have a passion for client results by building class attendance and offering alternative movements to accommodate all levels of fitness.

Requirements:

  • Current nationally recognized Group Fitness Certification or specialty class certificate, specialty class license (i.e. Zumba®, etc.) and current CPR /AED certification (no online CPR/AED certification accepted).
  • Prior experience in group fitness, corporate health promotion, wellness, etc.
  • Must be knowledgeable about the industry with the customer skills to network, engage, and interact with all clients, guests, and participants.
  • Must communicate professionally using appropriate vocabulary and grammar to obtain and relay information to and from clients/guests.
  • Ability to effectively engage participants as a public speaker.

YOUTH SPORTS COACHES

Part Time

Seeking Youth Sports Coaches for our basketball and soccer programs. Applicants who have a background in a variety of sports beyond those listed may be considered for future programs.
 
Youth Sports Coaches are responsible for the instruction and coaching of young athletes in a variety of sports. Responsibilities include creating sport-specific practices that focus on developing core skill competencies and a strong understanding of the sports and their rules. The coaches are also responsible for demonstrating and teaching the core values of the YMCA (caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility) and creating a safe, welcoming, and encouraging environment for youth to grow.
 
Additionally, the Youth Sports Coaches will need to communicate directly with parents and other YMCA staff about schedules, performance, and conduct of the athletes. Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and a collaborative approach are necessary.
 
Schedule:
Monday-Friday evenings 4:00-8:00PM
Saturday & Sunday hours will be based on practice and game schedules and will vary by season. Hours will be between 9:00AM-3:00PM
