PAYRATE: $15.92-18.00 hourly

POSITION SUMMARY: The Health Officer is responsible for supporting the health and safety of campers and staff by providing basic first aid and CPR care for minor injuries and incidents. This role maintains accurate health and incident records, manages camper medications in accordance with camp policies, responses to radio calls from the camp counselors to treat any injury and monitors campers with special health needs. The Health Officer may also assist with camper supervision and substitute as a Camp Counselor when needed.

JOB FUNCTION:

  • Provide first aid and CPR care for minor injuries and health-related incidents.
  • Document all incidents, injuries, and treatments in accordance with camp policies and procedures.
  • Maintain and manage camper health records and medication logs.
  • • Safely store, administer, and track camper medications as authorized by parents/guardians and camp policy.
  • Monitor campers with special health needs and communicate concerns to camp leadership and parents as required.
  • Support campers’ general health and well-being throughout the camp day.
  • Substitute as a Camp Counselor when needed to assist with supervision and activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Professional Level CPR and First Aid certification required
  • Experience working with children in a camp, school, or childcare setting preferred.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow health and safety protocols.
