OPEN POSITIONS | OAK STREET
Offsite Junior Lifeguard
The Junior Lifeguard supports the safety, organization, and daily operation of Darlington Lake. Although certified, a 15-year-old employee may not perform lifeguard duties in natural-water environments under federal labor law. This position provides supervised, non-guarding assistance that enhances waterfront readiness and guest safety.
Waterfront Lifeguard
Waterfront Lifeguards employed by the Ridgewood YMCA are responsible for ensuring a safe and welcoming aquatic environment at Darlington County Park Lake. This includes maintaining vigilant supervision of the lake, to ensure the safety of all patrons and other waterfront users. Enforcing rules, providing first aid as needed and performing rescues in the lake. Maintain constant and proactive surveillance of the lake and surrounding areas to ensure a safe environment for all participants.
Summer Camp Counselor
As a Camp Counselor at the Ridgewood YMCA, you will create a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for youth, fostering personal growth, confidence, and teamwork. You will support daily camp activities, encourage positive social interactions, and help deliver high-quality experiences for campers and their families. This role is essential to ensuring every child feels valued, supported, and empowered throughout their time at camp.
Preschool Teacher
Join our team as a Preschool Teacher and help create a positive environment where young learners can grow, play, and thrive! At the Ridgewood YMCA, you’ll guide children through age-appropriate curriculum, spark curiosity, and build lasting connections with families and fellow educators. This year-round role offers the chance to support our summer camp and other fun YMCA programs during the summer. Finance + Administrative Assistant
The Finance & Administration Assistant supports the work of the Ridgewood YMCA and YMCA Camp Bernie, nonprofit charitable organizations dedicated to strengthening the community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Finance & Administration Assistant ensures the efficient day-to-day operation of the administrative office. This role is responsible for managing office systems, coordinating administrative processes, maintaining accurate records, and providing support to both the Finance and HR Department.
Membership Representative
As a Membership Representative, you’ll be the welcoming face of the Y—greeting members, guests, and program participants both in person and over the phone with warmth and care. You’ll help prospective members feel at home by providing informative tours and guiding them through the membership process, while maintaining a clean and inviting lobby space. By fostering meaningful connections among members and encouraging involvement in programs and volunteer opportunities, you’ll help strengthen our community. You’ll also handle membership questions and concerns with patience and professionalism, always ensuring YMCA policies are followed. This role is all about creating an inclusive, supportive environment where everyone feels valued and connected.
Licensed Massage Therapist
Massage Therapists at the Ridgewood YMCA provide personalized therapeutic massage and bodywork to a diverse client base, supporting overall wellness and stress relief. This role involves working independently while maintaining high standards of professionalism, cleanliness, and customer service. Ideal candidates are licensed in New Jersey, experienced in multiple massage modalities, and comfortable working with a variety of populations, including those with specialized needs.
Pool Deck Lifeguard: 5:30AM-4:00PM
Lifeguards on the Pool Deck are responsible for creating a safe and welcoming aquatic environment. This includes maintaining vigilant supervision of all pool areas to ensure the safety of swimmers and other facility users. Responsibilities include enforcing pool rules, administering first aid when necessary, and performing water rescues as needed. Lifeguards maintain constant and proactive surveillance of the pool and surrounding deck areas to ensure a secure environment for all participants.
