Youth Sports

  • Basketball I
    Designed for 5-8 year olds, Basketball I teaches and advances the skills needed to play the game. Kids participate in dribbling, passing and shooting drills, and are introduced to team play. Mini-games help participants to understand the organization of the real game!
  • Basketball II
    This class is an advanced instructional program for 9 to 11+ year. The class teaches and advances participants' skills in dribbling, passing, shooting, defense and team play. Game situations and pick-up games allow participants to work on and use these learned skills in real game environments!
  • Advanced Basketball Skills
    Learn advanced Basketball skils from the YMCA's own Coach Dion Brown. This class will focus on dribbling, passing and stategy.
  • Baton Twirling
    Instructor Patti Lynn Wojtowicz, NJ Twirling Assoc. teacher, judge & board member, teaches girls 6 and older all levels from never twirled to advanced. Development of coordination,poise & musicality are emphasized. (Class 575-Advanced Dance Twirl, Class 576- Dance Twirl Team, Class 577 Beginner/Intermediate)
  • Cheerleading
    Cheerleading is a great class for 5-7 year olds to learn proper form and technique on jumps, dance moves and basic stunts. Cheerleaders learn various songs and cheers, while being taught how to put the song and dance together into cheer-dance routines.
  • Floor Hockey I
    This class is the perfect way to introduce your child to the wonderful world of hockey! A safe and fun way for your beginning hockey star to learn the skills of the game including puck and stick handling, shooting, and passing. Class will also include team play and games.
  • Home School Gym
    Home School Gym is for kids ages 6-12 yrs and introduces physical fitness concepts through physical education style games and organized sports. The class will help to increases stamina, agility and speed through the use of the agility ladder, scooters and sports such as basketball, team handball, soccer and floor hockey.
  • Karate
    Under the direction of instruction Glenn Faustini, World Martial Arts Hall of Fame Inductee, children ages 6-12 learn the martial arts of karate and jujitsu and develop confidence,awareness, speed, self-esteem and discipline.
  • Little Samurai Karate
    For kids ages 4-5 years, Little Sarurai teaches karate and jujitsu self-defense techniques. Children increase fitness and develop self-confidence, esteem and discipline.
  • Ping Pong
    Our Ping Pong class teaches kids 7-10 years old the fundamentals of this great game including basic skills and game rules.
  • Private Sports Lessons
    Schedule 4 one hour private or semi-private lessons to work on specific sports skills, drills and conditioning! Contact Mike Rainere at extension 339 for more information and or to make an appointment. Semi-private lessons also available (bring friends!)
  • Rowing & Scout Tests

  • Tiny Tot Soccer
    For kids ages 3-4 years, Tiny Tot Soccer teaches basic soccer skills including dribbling, shooting, passing and trapping. A great introduction to the game!
  • Soccer 1
    Soccer I teaches kids ages 5-6 yrs the fundamentals of the game including dribbling, shooting, passing and trapping. Parents can play too! (optional)
  • Soccer 2
    Soccer II is for 7-10 year olds and teaches soccer fundamentals including dribbling, shooting, passing, and trapping. Parent's can play too!
  • Sportacular
    Our new Sportactular class has it all! Each week, we will feature a new sport including soccer, T-Ball, basketball and more. A great introduction to youth sports! Classes 540 and 543 for ages 3-5. class 542 for ages 7-10.
  • Super Sports Parties
    An hour of your choice of sporting activities including soccer, "clean your backyard", kickball and so much more. Sports parties are geared to be age appropriate. Please call for available times.
  • Swim Sam
    From ages 6 months to 6 years currently enrolled in swim lessons. Enjoy practice time with your children to reinforce swimming skills!
  • T-Ball I
    T-Ball I teaches kids ages 5-6 yrs the fundamentals of of the game including throwing, catching, hitting and teamwork. Great fun!
  • Tennis For Beginners
    Tennis for Beginners teaches kids ages 6 years and older the fundamentals of forehand, backhand and serving. We provide the racquets and each participant brings a can of balls.
  • Tiny Tumblers
    For kids ages 3-4 years,Tiny Tumblers introduces children to basic movements/gymnastics with a focus on balance, hopping, skipping, forward rolls and low balance beam skills.
  • YFit
    For kids ages 10-16 years, this 8-week comprehensive program meets twice a week and combines structured physical activities, weight training and nutritional counseling to help improve overall health and fitness.   • Youth Basketball League
    Youth Basketball League 5-10 yrs Our youth basketball league teaches and strengthens basketball skills,building confidence and self-esteem in young athletes. In YBL practices and games, everyone plays! We emphasize team work and good sportsmanship
  • Youth Dance

    Learn the latest hip hop and pop style dance moves and put them together to create fun and exciting dance routines! Girls and boys welcome!

    Class 570 is a beginner dance class for kids ages 5-7.  Class 571 is for kids ages 8-11.

  • Youth Fitness Training
    Youth Fitness Training offers kids 10-16 years old specialized one-on-one personal instruction designed to improve fitness and sports performance. Tailored programs help maximize performance by improving balance,coordination, speed and agility. Limited sessions after school and weekends.
