Adaptive Aquatics

Adaptive Aquatics for Adults with Autism

Aquatic activities have been shown to have many therapeutic benefits including improved motor skills, enhanced sensory integration, and opportunities for meaningful social interactions. Our adaptive swimming program considers the unique needs of individuals with autism and is designed to create a conducive setting for specialized learning.

Swim Lessons

BEGINS MAY 9–BOOKING IS OPEN!

Thursdays | 6:00-7:00PM
Members $74 per lesson | Non-members $85 per lesson
Lessons are 30 minutes long

Grannon Pool provides a warm, quiet, and spacious environment and the separate lesson times ensure minimized external stimuli. The Ridgewood Y’s aquatics leadership team is dedicated to adapting our teaching methods to accommodate learning styles and creating a positive and welcoming environment so that everyone in our community can benefit from swim lessons.

Family Swim

Sessions held daily
Free for Members | $10 Non-members

Our family swim sessions are a great option for additional pool time which can provide therapeutic sensory input and a soothing environment. Family swim sessions are open to all members.

Financial Aid

We believe the opportunity to gain personal growth from our programming should be accessible to everyone regardless of financial situation or socioeconomic status. Our Financial Aid for All program assures that nobody is turned away because of inability to pay.
