 | The goal of the International Camp Program (ICP) is, to impact a young persons life while making a difference in the world. It provides an opportunity for personal growth, and builds leadership skills. Participants gain self-confidence, and independence. The Ridgewood YMCA has been involved internationally since World War II.
The program is designed to include five important components:

Youth to Youth Interaction: Campers interact with the youth from Reynosa, Mexico through Faith Ministries, and youth through the Dominican Republic YMCA and Senegal, YMCA. |

Host Family Experience: Mexico participants share two dinners with a local family. ICP DR participants share accommodations with DR Leader Club members. Pairs of ICP Senegal live with a family for one week. |

Community Service: With Faith Ministries participants build a house for a needy family. In the DR campers build houses and paint a YMCA school. With the Senegal YMCA campers assist in variety of service projects including a reforestation project. |

Educational/Cultural Experiences: Participants gain an appreciation of other nationalities, cultures, history and geography through a planned itinerary. |

Team Building: ICP campers develop important team-building skills prior to their departure and throughout the journey. |
