ADULT, TEEN & YOUTH VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

Without adult and teen volunteers, the Ridgewood YMCA’s broad-based community programs cannot happen. Volunteers assist instructors in swim, sports, fitness and family classes. Rainbows volunteers lead support groups for children of divorced and separated parents. Mentors provide guidance, friendship and encouragement to at-risk youth. To find out how you can get involved, contact Kathi Meding, ext. 332

MENTORS

Become a volunteer mentor and make a difference in children’s lives. The YMCA matches elementary school-age children with mentors to provide guidance, friendship and encouragement.

The volunteer mentors and their protégés meet each week during the academic year. Activities may include social, educational or recreational outings, cultural or sporting events or just talking.

Mentoring complements and encourages the guidance and support offered at home and school.

Mentoring is a supportive one-to one relationship between child and adult based on mutual trust and committed to education, social and personal growth. The adult mentor is another heart and pair of ears for a child.

For a Mentor Program application and information, contact Kathi Meding at 201.444.560 ext. 332
