CAMP PAMACKA

For over 50 years, Camp Pamacka has offered children ages 6-13 the opportunity to expand their talents and interests, build self-confidence, and create lasting memories and friendships.


Assistant Director

You will be responsible for assisting the Camp Director in the overall management of the Camp Pamacka day camp program, including the supervision of the Assistant Director, Senior and Junior Counselors & LIT’s, as well as the supervision and well-being of all campers. You will also oversee camp activities such as swim lessons, arts and crafts, trips, songs/games, sports activities, theme days and shows. HS diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred. Must be at least 21 years of age with minimum two years’ experience or education in related field, current CPR/AED/First Aid Certification and strong interpersonal and communication skills. Camp Counselor

You will be responsible for the well-being and supervision of an assigned camper age group by implementing a daily activity schedule; communicating with parents on each camper’s activities and progress; taking daily attendance and participating in pre-season set-up and post-season break-down of camp. Must be at least 16 years of age with a HS diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred. Minimum one year experience working with children preferred. Art Instructor

You will be responsible for all arts and crafts related activities to all our campers; creating and implementing at least 3 crafts per week; setting up and cleaning up the art room; and ordering craft supplies. Must be at least 18 years of age with a HS diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred. Minimum one year experience working with children preferred. Y’S KIDZ CAMP

Our Y's Kidz day camp has been specially designed with our youngest campers (ages 3-6) in mind to provide a safe and nurturing environment for children to play, grow and make friends.

TEEN TRIP

Pre-teens and teens expand their horizons on day trips to area tristate hot spots such as water parks, ballgames, NYC attractions, and the Jersey Shore.

 

Teen Trip Counselor

Each morning, you will lead a YMCA team building exercise to start the day ensuring a fun and fulfilling experience for each participant and then accompany our campers on a day trip. Must be at least 21 years of age with a HS diploma or equivalent. Minimum one year experience working with teens and pre-teens preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and completion of CPR/AED/First Aid certifications necessary. FINANCE ASSISTANT

Under the direct supervision of the Sr. VP, Finance, you will perform various financial functions for the organization. BS in financial field and minimum 1 year experience in Finance/Bookkeeping/Accounting experience required. Strong computer, problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills a must. SUBSTITUTE ZUMBA INSTRUCTOR

We’re seeking an energetic instructor to fill in to teach Zumba group classes as needed. Ideal candidate will build effective relationships with members, keep accurate class attendance records and attend instructor trainings as needed. FAMILY LIFE INSTRUCTORS

Do you love working with children and want to share your talents with them? We're seeking enthusiastic instructors to teach academic enrichment classes (i.e. art, movement and chess) to children aged 6 months to 6+ years old. Must be at least 18 years of age with a HS diploma or equivalent, patient and enjoy working with children. Classes run Mondays-Fridays (and a possible Saturday) in the morning. Salary is $15/hr. PARTY HOST

As one of our Party Hosts, you’ll be in charge in running one of our themed birthday parties. In this fun role, you’ll set up the parties, run activities, help serve food and then help clean up afterwards. Parties run on Saturdays and Sundays for 3 hours in the afternoon. KIDS NIGHT OUT STAFF

One Friday night per month, from 6pm-10pm, the Ridgewood YMCA hosts a Kids Night Out, which gives parents the opportunity to enjoy an evening out while we entertain the kids! You’ll help host activities and supervise children ages 6-10. Must be at least 18 years of age with a HS diploma or equivalent and some prior experience working with children. Salary is $8.44/hr. TENNIS INSTRUCTOR

Do you want to share your skills with the future tennis stars of tomorrow? We're seeking an instructor to teach on Monday afternoons. Must enjoy working with children and able to sub for some Saturday morning classes. Must be at least 18 years of age with a HS diploma or equivalent and some prior tennis experience. VACATION CAMP COUNSELORS

Love working with kids? Then consider working with us at our 2017 Vacation Day Camp. We’re seeking caring individuals to work 9am-5pm when children in grades K-8 are off from school during public school breaks. You’ll help children enjoy daily recreational and educational activities such as swimming, arts & crafts, and fun theme days! Must be at least 16 years of age. Salary is $8.44/hr. SENIOR EXERCISE INSTRUCTOR

We have an immediate need for a patient and considerate individual to teach a Tuesday morning exercise class to active seniors at a local off-site senior center. Current Group Exercise and/or Senior Exercise certification, along with current CPR/AED Certification, required. Salary is $15/hr. DANCE INSTRUCTOR

AQUA EXERCISE INSTRUCTORS

We're seeking upbeat, motivated individuals to teach aqua exercise classes on Monday evenings; Tuesday afternoons; Wednesday mornings and evenings; Thursday afternoons; and Friday mornings. Must be at least 18 years of age. CPR/AED Certification required; Aqua Exercise Certification preferred, but will train; and Group Exercise Certification a plus. Salary is $15/hr. PERSONAL TRAINER

We’re seeking a certified Personal Trainer to train clients and members in a safe, enjoyable & positive environment that promotes member wellness and engagement. Flexible hours. Must be at least 18 years of age with CPR/AED/First aid certification and National Personal Training certification (i.e. ACE, ACSM, NASM, NATA, etc.). Prior experience a plus. Salary is $25/hr. LIFEGUARDS

Immediate opening for early mornings, but other shifts are also available Mon-Sun. Ideal candidates must have their current CPR/AED/First Aid/Lifeguarding certification. Must be at least 16 years of age, but will consider a mature 15 year old with proper certifications. SWIM INSTRUCTORS

We're seeking Group Fitness instructors to teach our Functional Fitness and Step Aerobics classes. We're seeking a motivated individual to plan and teach power/strength classes on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings. Using sound exercise principles, you will handle all aspects of the class.
