FULL TIME

HEAD TEACHER – Ridgewood YMCA Preschool

Full Time

The Ridgewood YMCA is seeking a full time Head Teacher for our preschool program. The Head Teacher, in collaboration with the Sr. Director of Childcare and Camp, will plan and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum that supports and encourages the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical needs of our preschool students. They will work within the framework of the Ridgewood YMCA’s Preschool program to carry out its functions, policies, and procedures; including but not limited to student assessments, work sampling, individualized plans, and parent/ family engagement. The Head Teacher will supervise, coach, and support Assistant Teachers and Activity Specialists when appropriate.

The Ridgewood YMCA Preschool Program operates Monday – Friday, from September through June. Our Head Teacher will have additional responsibilities when preschool is not in session and must be available to work evenings and weekends as needed. This will include and is not limited to, summer camp, enrichment, vacation camp, and other Ridgewood YMCA programs.

YOUTH SPORTS COACHES

Part Time

Seeking Youth Sports Coaches for our basketball and soccer programs. Applicants who have a background in a variety of sports beyond those listed may be considered for future programs.
 
Youth Sports Coaches are responsible for the instruction and coaching of young athletes in a variety of sports. Responsibilities include creating sport-specific practices that focus on developing core skill competencies and a strong understanding of the sports and their rules. The coaches are also responsible for demonstrating and teaching the core values of the YMCA (caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility) and creating a safe, welcoming, and encouraging environment for youth to grow.
 
Additionally, the Youth Sports Coaches will need to communicate directly with parents and other YMCA staff about schedules, performance, and conduct of the athletes. Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and a collaborative approach are necessary.
 
Schedule:
Monday-Friday evenings 4:00-8:00PM
Saturday & Sunday hours will be based on practice and game schedules and will vary by season. Hours will be between 9:00AM-3:00PM

MEMBER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE

The Ridgewood Y is looking for a caring, helpful, and attentive individual to join our year-round team!

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The Member Service Representative is responsible for meeting the needs of Y members, guests and program participants for the express purpose of making each visit to the Y a welcoming, inclusive and a positive experience. This position is the main point of contact for the entire membership base.  MSR will give tours, sell memberships, assist in fundraising and support the work of the Ridgewood Y and the community.  

Rotating Weekends, Saturday & Sundays: 7:45am-3:15pm 
One Friday a month 5:00pm-9:00pm
Along with occasional coverage for coworkers sick/vacation etc.

ASSISTANT SWIM TEAM COACH

Behind our terrific counselors are supportive directors! Be the face of Camp Woods as the leader of one of our age groups: our 3-5 year olds. You’ll be responsible for supervising staff, communicating with parents, executing schedules, and being your groups overall point person. Directors are expected to make decisions using good judgement, be organized, address camper behavioral needs and collaborate with fellow staff! SUMMER CAMP COUNSELOR – Camp Woods

Are you looking for a job where you can make new friends, be outdoors, and act as a positive role model for kids? Search no further! The Ridgewood YMCA is looking for upbeat and caring individuals who want to make a difference in the lives of our campers!

Day Camp Counselors spend each day leading activities to guide kids in learning new skills and becoming better people. You’ll be responsible for the overall wellbeing of your group of campers and communicating with your Camp Director. Don’t have experience? All our training happens before camp starts and returning staff are ready to support each other. Counselors are expected to be kind, patient, creative, and outgoing while actively supervising groups.
